Día de los Muertos
Día de los Muertos Benefit
Date: Saturday, November 2, 2024
Location: Shillelagh Tavern, Astoria, Queens, NY
Beneficiary: NYC Autism Charter School – Music Program
This bilingual heavy metal concert was held at Shillelagh Tavern in Queens as a benefit for the music program at NYC Autism Charter School. Donations were collected directly by a representative from the school’s development office. The event was coordinated by Dayann Molina in collaboration with Jasmine Sandler (JSM Media / Warrior Women in Business) and Frankie Wood.
The event served as a platform for Spanish-speaking rock fans and performers, and also featured debut performances of new original material. It was promoted through multiple channels and successfully relocated to Shillelagh after a last-minute venue change just days before the show.
Performers & Highlights
- Mykey Massacre (solo performance) — now performing with full band: Mykey Massacre & The Tragedy Boys
- Solo Borges — delivered a standout set and shared a public thank-you afterward
- Silent Fury (ft. Jasmine Sandler) — live debut of “Monster” and first original Spanish-language performance
- My World (with Chris Munger)
- DJ Johnny Juice — cameo finale (formerly of Public Enemy)
Credit is also due to bassist Tucky Parks and drummer Dave Dawson of Silent Fury for their support in adapting the show logistics and delivering a powerful performance.

Future Plans
The Día de los Muertos concert will return on October 30, 2025 at Lucky 13 Saloon in Brooklyn. The 2025 edition will expand the lineup to include bilingual metal bands — including artists performing in both English and Nahuatl, honoring the pre-Columbian roots of the Día de los Muertos celebration.
Due to NYC Marathon scheduling and Halloween venue bookings, the event was moved earlier in the week and to a larger venue better suited to the genre. To make up for moving from Shillelagh Tavern, three additional events have since been booked there.
